How a storage cleanout works

1. Go through it once, with a decision. Not a browse. Bring boxes for what's leaving with you and plan to be done in one visit.

2. Pull the things that matter. Documents, photographs, anything with sentimental or actual value. Those go in your car, not in the pile.

3. Sort what's left into keep, sell, and gone. Be honest about "sell." If it's been in storage four years, you weren't going to sell it.

4. We take the rest. Our junk removal crews load the unit out — furniture, boxes, appliances, whatever's in there — and haul it. You don't need a truck, a dolly, or a friend who owes you a favor.

5. Close the account the same day. This is the step people forget. Empty the unit, then actually cancel — most facilities bill by the month and won't prorate. Get confirmation in writing.

Which floor, and is there an elevator? Upper-floor units without a freight elevator are a completely different job than a drive-up unit.

Can a truck get to the door? Some facilities have tight lanes, low clearances, or gates that restrict vehicle size.

What are the gate hours? We need to be in and out within them, and some facilities require the tenant present or a code on file.

Does the facility have rules about vendors? Some require notice or proof of insurance for anyone working on site.

If you're clearing several at once, a dumpster with a loading crew staged at the facility can beat truck trips — worth asking the facility whether they allow it.

Yes. Give us the address, unit number, and a window inside gate hours.

Will you take everything, or do I have to sort first?
